About Jeremy
Jeremy is a Registrant of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#2675) and of the College of Alberta Psychologists (#5049). His training and interests have an integrative and person-centered approach. He uses a foundation in the science of the brain and nervous system to inform how these affect emotion, behaviour, and how we attach and bond to others. This approach, in combination with exploring the importance of your background, beliefs and experiences, is aimed at creating a safe and therapeutic environment for you. Jeremy has specialized training in the following modalities: EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Levels 1 & 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Jeremy's background includes an MA in Counselling Psychology from Providence Theological Seminary, a counselling practicum at Karunia Counselling Services in Leduc, Alberta, and completion of his provisional psychologist hours at Journey Counselling in Calgary. He has also provided training to lay counsellors and psychologists in Rwanda, taught English in South Korea, and served as an adjunct professor at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, he has an MA from the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto, and a BA from Ambrose University. Before moving to Cranbrook in 2018, he worked at Journey Counselling and the Canadian Mental Health Association in Calgary.
